The first batch of shirts includes a burlap bag containing five sunflower seeds of Ukrainian origin. We kept the sunflower theme because the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. In Ukraine, they symbolize peace and resilience. We combined the sunflowers and the children's drawing in our final design, and we hope you like the effect created.

The Children's Voices team kindly provided us with children's drawings and shared stories of children with war experiences. So that we can tell their story here in Canada. So that their voices can be heard. So that we, as a people, can unite in helping them by purchasing a wonderful thing for ourselves.

The Story of Maxim

The story of Maxim from the Mykolaiv region. He was afraid that he would not hear the whistle of a rocket

Since the age of two, Maxim has had problems with hearing and speech and now he can only hear with a hearing aid. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian occupiers constantly shelled the village for eight months. Due to vibrations from the explosions, the hearing aid broke.

Maxim was very afraid, so much so that for weeks he did not go out into the yard at all. Because the rocket would whistle, and he would not hear this whistle.

Maxim was without a hearing aid for about two months. The family was in dire need of funds, because they only had the pensions of the grandmother and the boy.

The Voices of Children Foundation purchased a hearing aid for Maxim. He began to hear his mother's soothing words. He can talk more. It is becoming easier for him. However, unfortunately, there are still many children in Ukraine who need support because of the war.
